A Staged Reading (a script-in-hand performance)
Of a Play By Duke Ryan

In the early 12th century when European monasteries could hold huge territories protected with large armies, a churchman and a pirate plot to seize a small, quiet abbey on a misty island and turn it into a major power. They hope its abbot will go quietly, but if  not, they will turn to the “Viking solution”—steel. The abbot hesitates. He abhors bloodshed. Still, how can good prevail if its champions choose surrender? He struggles with that dilemma as pirate ships loom on the horizon.
